Cabourg, in search of Proust
Proust's first major success, In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower (Goncourt prize in 1919), takes place in Balbec. This seaside resort has an imaginary name, but it is largely inspired by a city that the writer has frequented a lot: Cabourg.
