The assassination of Henri IV
King Hanry IV was assassinated on May 14, 1610 by a Catholic fanatic named Ravaillac. The day of his murder, the king of France had only one thing on his mind: meeting with the woman he loved. He left Paris in an unescorted carriage, thus becoming an easy target for Ravaillac.
