Édouard Manet is a major French painter of the late nineteenth century. Initiator of modern painting, Manet is wrongly considered today as one of the fathers of Impressionism.

Star chef Edouard Loubet, chef of the year 2011, runs the Capelongue restaurant in the heart of the Luberon. For several months, a team followed him in his daily search for excellence.

Born in 1834 in Paris, the French Impressionist painter Edgar Degas is especially identified with the subject of dance; more than half of his works depict dancers. He was also famous for his pastel drawings and oil paintings. Although Degas is regarded as one of the founders of Impressionism, he rejected the term, preferring to be called a realist, and did not paint outdoors as many Impressionists did.

Raphaël de Casabianca takes viewers on a journey to discover the charms and secrets of Haute-Savoie. He begins his journey in Annecy, where he meets Stéphane Thebaut. He takes a trip on the lake to the castle of Duingt before spending the night on a portaledge on the side of a wall. The next day, he heads for Lake Aiguebelette, a Mecca for fishing and rowing. Chef Georges Paccard shares some of his cooking secrets with him before inviting him to sit down to dinner. Finally, at the Forclaz pass, Raphaël attends training sessions for acrobatic paragliders and, at the Parmelan, a slackline session.

The Drôme, a little-known region that is nevertheless full of interesting sites. Sophie arrives in Valence. She meets up with Baptiste Poinot, a young starred chef. They cycle through the old town. We meet them again in Baptiste's family cottage. Sophie enjoys an improvised cooking class using local natural products. We head for the Vercors. Sophie meets Matt and Sandrine, mountain guides and photographers, at the Col de la Bataille. The hike starts on a wide path that leads to the Pas de Gouaillât. They then arrive at the Ambel refuge to spend the night. In the early morning, they will stand in a clearing to watch an always impressive spectacle: it is the period of the stags' bellowing. Then, Sophie, Sandrine and Matt arrive in Saint-Julien en Vercors. On the road, they stop at Aymeric's house. This farmer produces milk and cheese, the Bleu du Vercors.

The sun sets over Paris. Sophie begins her night-time journey at the Trocadero, opposite the Eiffel Tower. Skateboarders practice their acrobatic sport on the square.

The city of Marseille and its surroundings see life in "blue". Jérôme Pitorin goes on a trip to Marseille and enjoys the charms of France's second city. Elected European Capital of Culture in 2013, it has been propelled to the forefront of the stage and is now crowned one of the "trendiest" destinations in the world. The globe-trotting journalist begins his journey in Marseille's inner city, its Bonne Mère, its Panier, but also its renovated districts, before travelling along the Côte Bleue to Martigues before delving into the world of Marcel Pagnol.

Sophie meets Grégory Cuilleron, the host, at the Halles Paul Bocuse. Once known as the "belly" of Lyon, this unmissable market brings together over 60 producers. On Rue de la Fromagerie, Grégory talks about the history of Lyon's gastronomy, which he knows very well. They then head towards the most beautiful traboules of Old Lyon. There are 200 of them in the city! Our two walkers then take the funicular. Direction the basilica of Fourvière! There they meet Jean-Luc Chavent, a true figure of Lyon's life. Jean-Luc, who knows every corner of the basilica, invites them to walk on the metal roof structure and enjoy an exceptional view! Grégory and Sophie leave Vieux Lyon and explore the streets of the Presqu'île. Christian Janiet, Meilleur Ouvrier de France cheese maker and long-time friend of the chef, is waiting to show them around his cellars. Grégory and Sophie discover Christian's 150 cheeses in the different maturing cellars.

Raphaël de Casabianca is in Martinique, which he is discovering by bike. A nice challenge because the "island of flowers" is made up of volcanic massifs whose history goes back 24 million years. The globe-trotting journalist sets out to meet the little pearl of the Antilles and its culture, which is a mixture of African, Amerindian and European elements. Between nature and traditions, he meets atypical or passionate characters, and even goes in search of the treasures hidden in the depths of the ocean.

For a long weekend of relaxation, discovery and idleness, Raphaël de Casabianca goes to the Vermeille coast and its hinterland, overlooked by Mount Canigou. This secret border region benefits from a protected environment, between sea and mountain. Festivals, rugby and gastronomy perpetuate the Catalan culture. With its 300 days of sunshine per year, it is also a land where nature abounds. And the tourists flock there in great numbers. The anchor point for Raphaël's visits is the small colourful village of Collioure.
