Rebecca is angry that she has to go to bed early when she is not tired. Ernest infects the family with a sleeping sickness to put them to sleep, so Ernest and Rebecca can continue to have fun. However, the disease spreads throughout the town. All the inhabitants fall asleep! Except for Dr. Fakbert, who was on the road when the infection occurred, and who sets out to find the virus responsible for the epidemic: Ernest! Fortunately, thanks to Grandpa Bestiole's rooster, Ernest and Rebecca manage to wake up the town before Dr Fakbert manages to capture the microbe.
