The president

Emile Beaufort, former French president, has retired to the countryside where he's writing his memoirs. He discovers that Philippe Chalamont, his former chief of staff, an unscrupulous politician, is running for the presidency. Beaufort sets out to prevent this from happening, and to save France from disaster.
